Security issues may vary with the type of boat and the use to which it is put. The following however are some general security considerations.

Where to Moor
Choose a mooring in a safe location such as a marina which has some permanently occupied boats, and fencing/ lighting to deter intruders.
Do not leave your boat in an exposed place and be sensible where you moor it when leaving it for any period of time – this said respect must be given to boatyard and private land owners.
The Yacht Harbour Association may be able to assist in finding suitable
mooring including on canals see www.yachtharbourassociation.com
